As we move into the final quarter of 2024, it’s crucial for pharmacies to understand and capitalize on the financial opportunities available through PQS by Innovaccer’s EQUIPP platform. Most importantly, there is a limited time left in September to capture check-in dollars for Quarter 3 of 2024. Pharmacies can still access Q3 opportunities and boost their revenue, while providing enhanced services to their patients.

Key Programs and Financial Opportunities

EQUIPP offers four main revenue-generating programs:

1. Longitudinal Adherence Monitoring Program (LAMP)
   • Quarterly check-ins
   • Extended day supply conversions
   • Last fill conversions
   • Additional adherence bonus unlocked after two check-ins
   • Maximum earnings: $115 per patient per measure
2. Controlling Blood Pressure Program (CBP)
   • Patients must have electronic blood pressure readings in the pharmacy and documented
   • Earnings: $30-$40 per captured blood pressure reading
3. Pay for Performance Program
   • Monthly check-ins (up to 4 per year)
   • Additional adherence bonus unlocked after two check-ins
   • Maximum earnings: $290 per patient per measure
4. A1c Testing (coming in Q4 2024)
   • Requires CLIA waiver
   • Earnings: $45 per captured A1c reading

Time-Sensitive Rewards: The Clock is Ticking

Remember that many of these opportunities in Enhanced Services are time-sensitive. Pay special attention to the following programs and opportunities:

LAMP Q3 check-ins are ending on September 30, 2024. Don’t miss out and leave dollars on the table. Please make sure to review your patients for this program. 

Q4 opportunities will begin on October 1st. EQUIPP will list Final Fill opportunities and each patient will display specific end dates which are used to validate payment for that intervention type.  Reminder that to be eligible for the year-end bonus each patient and measure opportunity must have two check-ins completed. 

Pay for Performance allows one check-in per month. To be eligible for the final adherence bonus, each patient and measure opportunity must have at least documentations completed.

Controlled Blood Pressure screenings should be documented within 30 days within EQUIPP. 

Engagement Strategies

To maximize these opportunities, consider the following strategies:

1. Combine clinical services: When patients come in for flu shots or refills, check if they’re eligible for blood pressure readings or other enhanced services.
2. Use the “All Patients View” in EQUIPP to identify patients attributed to multiple measures.
3. Implement efficient workflows, to allow time for implementing these enhanced services.

Setting Priorities for Year-End

As we approach the final quarter, be sure to review your mid-year performance and set goals for the remainder of the year. 

• Review Enhanced Services opportunities weekly. 
• Focus on final fill opportunities in the LAMP program. 
• Aim to hit performance network thresholds for additional bonuses. 
• Utilize the outliers information available in EQUIPP.
